Meet the TWF Women of Excellence

The Today’s Woman Foundation Women of Excellence Award was created to identify local women in the High Desert who have worked tirelessly, often breaking down barriers and overcoming obstacles that once seemed insurmountable, to serve their communities. It is through this Award that we honor these women and their accomplishments. This award was established in 2017 as part of the annual Black Dress Affair Gala  celebration to honor the hard work and dedication of women leaders from across our High Desert.

What they're saying...

My kids and I are forever grateful. We went through a very difficult time but because of it, we got to meet all of you and that made it all worth it. Now, we have a new life, a new beginning, and a better understanding about how to approach life with knowledge, love and faith. Today’s Woman Foundation, thank you and may God bless all of you always.

Thank you very much for the cancer box, it is fabulous! I look forward to sending the second box to my friend in Chicago who has brain cancer. It will put a smile on her face. I have completed radiation and doing fine. Once again, this is a beautiful surprise. You are a grand organization to do this for us cancer persons. Thank you, thank you.

I received a “Bundle of Hope” boxed gift from Melanie Ajanwachuku when I started chemotherapy last month. I felt like a little kid opening a birthday or Christmas gift. Such fun! It is delightful and so comforting. Almost immediately I began to wear the stocking cap and scarf as the mornings have been cold… Sincerely,
Anna

Happy cancer patient embracing her friend who is visiting her at home.

There is good in this world. And it's worth fighting for.

And how do we fight for the good that is in this world?  The best place to start is with our community.  It’s the people we surround ourselves with, who join us and become part of a great cause.

Hope and optimism are the fuel for that fight.  It’s an investment in tomorrow, believing in the capacity of women, and when we empower them, they in turn will empower others,.
